Abstract:
Kahang porphyry copper deposit lies in the central part of Urumieh-Dokhtar magmatic belt which is the main volcanic belt of Iran. The porphyry phases of the complex consist of a diorite porphyry, quartz monzonite and a dacite porphyry phase associating with tourmaline-bearing quartz veins. Electron microprobe analysis indicated that the tourmalines from quartz veins display schorl-dravite solid solution.
